The price on Amazon is 30-50 dollars lower than anywhere else I could find. I was apprehensive about buying this without seeing it in person and worrying that it would be too big. It has 12" tires which in the bicycle world apparently means 12" outer diameter, the rims are 8.5" outer diameter. Not like on a car where they measure the rim diameter for the tire size.So the bike is tiny but the seat height at it's lowest setting is 15". My son has a 12" inseam now and I will have to modify the seat post for him to fit now. I looked down the tubing where the seat post fits and the bottom tube intersects it so the seat post will only go in as far as the top of the bottom tube running across it. The seat post is 7/8" so I will have to look at a home goods store for a piece of tubing to swap in there. But our 3-year old looooves this bike and wants to ride it constantly. Though I've seen him pedal a tricycle he doesn't like to use pedals and so this bike is just pure fun for him, and after one day he was already coasting on it holding his feet up. He won't refer to it as his bike, only as his "cool black bike". No directions needed. Good sturdy aluminum frame. I cut the seatpost to allow the seat to be lower to the ground. Our son (26 months) loves it! No more big wheel, electric ATV, all he wants is to ride his bike around the block! Would buy again in a heartbeat! |
