My wife and I bought two of these bikes for our 5yr old twin boys. These bikes are heavy and tire lugs are too much for a beginning biker. Our boys were extremely strong riders coming off their 12" Gary Fisher bikes. They are working through the extra weight but a less experienced little rider may be frustrated. The training wheels are extremely weak and have to be straightened after every ride. Our boys weigh 40 lbs and these will have to be replaced. One of the forks was bent and that made the wheel assembly more difficult. I would pass on this bike..... Their sister rubs it in when she passes on her decent riding "pinkalicious" and cruises up the hill.

We picked up this bike in Toys R Us for $75 + tax yesterday. On line price is 200? Nonsense. The bike itself is strudy. Our 4-yr old finds it difficult to pedal because of the bike's weight. Hopefully he grows out of this.

Had no issue with faulty tires and replacing pedals- then crank assembly fell apart. One peice crank assy looks like it rests on thin sheet metal. Bought brand new in brick and mortar store. Now we regret purchase. Warranty requires owner shows proof of purchase and owner pays to ship back to schwinn. Going to see if schwinn dealer can repair for reasonable price. Do not reccommend this bike.
